Amazon FBA margin calculator inputs and results
How this calculator works
Amazon's referral fee is charged as a percentage of the total sale price. The FBA fulfillment fee is a flat charge per unit shipped — it covers picking, packing, and delivery from Amazon's warehouse to the customer. Storage fees are charged monthly per unit held in inventory and are shown here as a per-unit cost you amortise against each sale.
Net payout = sale price − referral fee − fulfillment fee − storage fee − unit cost. The break-even price solves that equation for zero profit: it's the lowest sale price at which your fees and unit cost are fully covered.
This calculator does not include inbound shipping to FBA, Amazon PPC ad spend, or the monthly selling plan fee — all of which reduce effective margin further.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Amazon referral fee?
Amazon charges a referral fee on every sale — a percentage of the total sale price. The rate depends on category: 15% for most categories, 8% for electronics, 6% for personal computers and consumer electronics accessories, and as low as 5% for some automotive parts. Check Amazon's current fee schedule for your category, as rates change.
How do I find my FBA fulfillment fee?
FBA fulfillment fees depend on your product's size tier and unit weight. For 2024, a small standard item under 4 oz starts at around $3.06; a large standard item under 1 lb is around $3.68. Use Amazon's FBA Revenue Calculator (in Seller Central) to get the exact fee for your ASIN. Enter that figure in the fulfillment fee field here.
Should I include storage fees?
Yes, if stock sits in an FBA warehouse for more than a few weeks. Standard storage is charged monthly per cubic foot — roughly $0.78 per cubic foot from January to September and $2.40 from October to December. For a typical small product, this works out to roughly $0.25–$1.50 per unit per month depending on size and time of year. High-velocity products with fast turnover have negligible storage cost; slower sellers are much more affected.
What's not included in this calculator?
This calculator covers the main per-unit fees. It does not model Amazon's monthly selling plan fee ($39.99/month for professional sellers), sponsored ads (PPC cost per sale), removal or disposal fees, inbound shipping to FBA, or returns and their associated reimbursement fees. Adding all of these would reduce your true margin further.
